Santo Antnio Da Serra (Machico)

Santo Antnio da Serra (Portuguese for Saint Anthony and mountain range) is a parish in the district of Machico in the Madeira Islands. The population in 2001 is 1,355, its density is 156.6/km and the area is 8.65 km/865 ha. It is located ENE of Machico and ENE of Funchal. The main industry are agriculture and fishing. It is connected with a road linking to Machico and to Funchal. The Atlantic Ocean is to the east. The mountains are encircling Santo Antnio da Serra. The nearby parish is not to be confused with another Santo Antnio da Serra in Santa Cruz which is located east southeast of this Santo Antnio da Serra.
