Samurai, The Legend Of Musashi

Samurai, The Legend of Musashi is a film directed by Hiroshi Inagaki and starring Toshiro Mifune as the 17th-century warrior Miyamoto Musashi. The film chronicles roughly the first half of Musashi's life, in which he leaves his village to become a warrior in a civil war and later returns. The film won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1955. This film is the first installment of the "Samurai" trilogy (commonly labelled "Samurai I", "Samurai II", and "Samurai III").
