Same-sex Marriage In Prince Edward Island

Same-sex marriage in Prince Edward Island: Prince Edward Island does not perform same-sex marriages. Same-sex marriage has yet to become a major political issue in the province. As it is legal in neighbouring Nova Scotia, and with lawsuits in New Brunswick, plus the rest of Canada's political landscape is changing, the issue is likely to come up soon. On December 10, 2004, Premier Pat Binns stated that his government would wait for federal legislation to resolve the issue. http://pei.cbc.ca/regionalnews/caches/pe-samebinns20041210.html
