Geography Samburg is located at 36°22'48" North, 89°21'8" West (36.379990, -89.352253). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.1 km² (0.8 mi²). 1.6 km² (0.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 26.51% water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 260 people, 104 households, and 69 families residing in the town. The population density is 164.6/km² (428.2/mi²). There are 161 housing units at an average density of 101.9/km² (265.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 99.62% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.38% from two or more races. 1.15% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 104 households out of which 27.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% are married couples living together, 10.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.7% are non-families. 23.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.49 and the average family size is 2.87.
