Sam Munchnick

Sam Munchnick was a professional wrestling promoter from Saint Louis, Missouri. He was instrumental in formation of the National Wrestling Alliance, and its president from 1950 to 1960 and from 1963 to 1975. Born in 1905 in the Ukraine, Muchnick moved to the USA in 1911. He was a sportswriter before getting involved with wrestling, including reporting on the baseball team the St. Louis Cardinals. Muchnick produced the television programme "Wrestling at the Chase" on KPLR-TV. He died on 30 December 1998.
