Sam's Point Preserve

Sam's Point Preserve, or Sam's Point Dwarf Pine Ridge Preserve, is a 4600 acre (19 km²) preserve owned by The Nature Conservancy in Ulster County in the Shawangunk Ridge region. It has a unique environment because it has dwarf pine trees along the top of the preserve's ridge. There is one main trail, with 3 branches: A branch to Sam's Point (view of land for many miles), a branch to caves with motion-sensor lights, and a branch to VerKeerderkill falls, probably the biggest (and hardest to get to) attraction of Sam's Point Preserve. Visitors who want to got to Sam's Point have to go by Cragsmoor. Sam's Point Preserve is near Mohonk Preserve, divided only by Minnewaska State Park.
