Saltwaterchimp (SWC) is the Handle of the owner of SaltWaterChimp.com. Originally, this was just Saltwaterchimp's homepage, which featured his webcam http://web.archive.org/web/20030704024155/http%3A//www.saltwaterchimp.com/. However, when he was not at the machine, he would point the webcam at his monitor and play tv shows. This apparently was well received by the community. Around the Middle of July 2003 (Wayback Machine shows the change was made by July 19th ), He began a separate stream for TV. Later on, this became two streams. These were popular, and he accepted donations. Donaters were awarded reserved slots in the servers. As time went on, he realized he needed more servers. After looking around for some reasonably priced hosting, he found it. He purchased slots from EGIHosting, when they were having a sale. This was very popular, and he played many shows. However, because of lack of donations, he didn't know what to do. He found out he could set up an automated system to add Reserved Slots for users, via PayPal. Someone going by the handle of Senor Amor created one for him, which was modified to work, as the previous method did not. Various people contributed code fixes, which resulted in a working system which is still being used as of August 2004.
