Salford (Hundred)

The hundred of Salford (sometimes known as Salfordshire) was an ancient division of the county of Lancashire. It corresponds to the modern Greater Manchester area, excluding the parts historically in Cheshire. Places in Salford hundred include Wigan was in the hundred of West Derby instead.
