Saint Petersburg Democratic Club

The Saint Petersburg Democratic Club is a small but active political organization in Saint Petersburg, Florida, advocating the United States Democratic Party. In April 2004, it attracted national attention (overwhelmingly negative) by placing an advertisement in a Gulfport, Florida weekly newspaper The Gabber suggesting the killing of United States Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. The language used in the ad parodied that used by Rumsfeld referring to the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The ad was roundly disapproved of by both Democrats and Republicans nationally.
