Saint Danilo Ii

Saint Danilo II the Serb (Свети Данило II српски) is a saint of the Serbian Orthodox Church. He was originally an archbishop during the heyday of the Serb Nemanjic state under Tsar Dusan Silni in the 14th century. He was a chronicler who wrote many hagiographies and regiographies which are considered as a part of Serb medieval literature. He is celebrated on the same day as Saint Ignatius of Antioch (Свети Игњатије Богоносац), on December 20th according to the Julian, January 2nd by the contemporary Gregorian calendar.
