Sailormongering

Sailormongering is the practice of waylaying ships coming into port and luring sailors away from their posts with prostitutes.

Greenpeace charge

Main article Greenpeace#Sailormongering Charge In 2002, the United States Justice Department invoked a law that was enacted to prevent sailormongering in 1872 to attempt to prosecute Greenpeace for boarding a ship that was smuggling illegal goods. The case garnered widespread ridicule and was dismissed on the second day of the trial.
