Saffron Hill

Historically a notorious criminal district just outside the city walls to the north. Cited in Charles Dickens' "Oliver Twist" as the location of Fagin's home. Today it lies in the southernmost part of the London Borough of Islington and is absorbed into the area commonly referred to as Clerkenwell or Farringdon.
