Sad Girl In SnowSad girl in snow is a meme in anime fandom popularized by the webcomic Megatokyo. The self-described picture is a good representative of one of manga and anime's style of Mo: cute but with a hint of sadness and vulnerablity that appeals to a fan's protective instinct. Naturally, it can be used in a pejorative sense to refer to a character design which panders to audiences by creating a vulernable and inoffensive female to idolize. The sketch has been parodied and referenced by innumerable webcomics. The term was first used in the comic as an allusion to a drawing. Machall's guest comic publicized the term.
