S.a. (Corporation)

S.A. is the abbreviation of Socit Anonyme in French, Sociedad Annima in Spanish, Sociedade Annima in Portuguese, or Naamloze Venootschap (N.V.) in Dutch, generally designating corporations in various countries. This translates literally as anonymous society, and can be opposed to partnerships. In Central America S.A. refers to the stricter corporate laws, that allow individuals to form legal corporations without revealing their identity, via the use of bearer bonds. An equivalent in Polish is Spłka Akcyjna.
