Ryan Mcginley

Ryan McGinley (born 1979) is a gay photographer from New York City whose works are very similar to those of Larry Clark (whom he has met). His subjects include black & white and color images of friends and lovers, as well as youth more so on the 'fringes' of society (skateboarders, same-sex couples etc). As of 2004 his works have been seen in many galleries. He was the youngest artist to have a solo show available in New York's Whitney Museum. His apartment, at one point, used Polaroid pictures of everyone who had ever visited him, neatly taped in rows, as a wallpaper. Growing up, his family seldom took pictures so he often explains he "always wanted to try it". McGinley, Ryan McGinley, Ryan McGinley, Ryan
