rustboro city

Rustboro City, known as Kanazumi City (カナズミシティ Kanazumi Shiti) in the original Japanese, is a place in the fictional world of Pokmon. Rustboro is just north of Petalburg Woods and Route 104. The first gym leader, Roxanne, lives here as a teacher. Also, the player needs to complete the Mr. Briney sidequest if he or she wants to get to the next town.

Team magma/aqua grunt

The Team magma/aqua grunt who stole the good from the Devon corporation emplyee earlier has a weak Poochyena. If the player can find him in the cave, he or she should him. In return, he will give up the Devon Goods. If the player returns to Devon with the goods and receive the letter, he or she should proceed to Dewford.

Places of interest

Cutter's House

The player should go to the Cutter's House, where a man upstairs will give him or her HM01, Cut.

Pokmon Trainer's School

If the player goes to the Pokemon Trainer's school, the old man will give him or her Quick Claw.

Devon Corporation

If the player goes to the Devon Corporation after they obtained the Devon Goods and talks to the President on the top floor he or she can receive a Poknav. After you have obtained a Root or Claw Fossil from the desert later in the game, you can give it to a scientist on the second floor and recieve a Lileep or Anorith, which evolve into Cradily and Armaldo respectively, two very good Pokmon.

Gym

The first Pokmon Gym is here, and the leader, Roxanne, has Rock Pokmon, including a Nosepass. Although a Marshtomp is useful here, a Combusken (the evolved form of Torchic) is also good because it is more useful against the later, harder Gym Leaders.
