Russ Ortiz

Russell Reid Ortiz (born June 5, 1974 in Encino, California), is a Major League Baseball player. He currently plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks after agreeing to a four-year deal but previously played for the San Francisco Giants (1998-2002) and was the Atlanta Braves Ace(2003-2004). Ortiz was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 4th round of the June 1995 free agent draft. In 2001, Ortiz received the John Roberto Clemente Award for excellence in community service.
