As well as the members skills, there are many extensions onto Ranging, Magic, Prayer, Crafting, Mining, Fishing, Cooking, Firemaking, and Woodcutting. There is also more than twice as much map area, meaning more training areas, with less people! The Next few sections will outline, and show complete guides to the four new skills, and extensions to Free-play skills. Agility Agility is one of the most recent Skills released by JaGeX. The higher your agility level, the faster your energy respawns. For a Thorough Guide to Agility, see The Agility Guide, v1.2.2b by Fredz Fletching Fletching, is the ability to make bows and arrows. The Higher fletching you have, the more money you can make from this skill. For a thorough guide to Fletching, see Guide To Fletching, by howabominable Herblore Herblore, the intricate art that is Potion Making. Learning Herblore allows you to Mix First, and Second Ingredients, in water-filled vials and create Potions. To begin Herblore, you must have completed the Druidic Ritual Quest. For a Thorough Guide to Herblore, see My Guide to Herblore Thieving Thieving isn't a very good moneymaking skill as a lower level, but as you get above 50, and 60, you will find even by thieving an NPC for a few minutes, you will have a couple of thousand gp. For a thorough guide to Thieving see Guide to Thieving, by Ben_Goten78, Naitch and Phobia-* = Extensions to Free-play Skills Ranged Members have a much more diverse assortment of ranging equipment than F2P. Members get Dragonhide Armour, a Ranger's Guild, New Arrows, New Bows, and better places to train Ranged. Ranger's Guild The Ranger's Guild was implemented soon after the release of RuneScape. Level 40 Ranged is required to enter. Inside the Guild are stores selling Throwing Axes, Javelins, Arrows, Arrow Heads, Bolts, up to Willow Bows, Arrow Shafts, and a Shop to trade in tickets for items The Ranger's Guild also has a training area, where you can range certain level NPC's, according to your range level. The gems you can get from the rocks are: Opal - Used to make Opal-tipped Bolts Red Topaz - Used in the Legends Quest Jade - Used in the Legends Quest Sapphire to Diamond - Crafting Glass-making Glassmaking is a fairly useless skill. You can only make Beer Glasses, Vials, and Unpowered Orbs. Steps Involved: 1) You will need to have 3 items. Bucket Seaweed - Fished with a big net, can also be found on the Northwestern part of Entrana. Glassblowing pipe - Can be found on Entrana, in the house a little North-East of the Herblore shop. 2) Use the Seaweed on the Range (North of the Boat) to obtain "Soda Ash". 3) Use your Bucket with the Sand pit to obtain sand. Sand pits can be found on Entrana, Yanille and the Lost City. 4) Use either your bucket of sand or your soda ash on the furnace. You should now have 'Molten Glass'. 5) Use your Glassblowing Pipe on the molten glass and select what you wish to make. Maple Logs - Lvl 45 is required to light the log. Each Maple Log gives 135exp. Magic Logs - Lvl 75 is required to light the log. Each Magic log gives 303.75 firemaking experience, significantly more than Yew, but perhaps not worth the cost. Woodcutting Similarily to Firemaking, Members only get Maple, and Magic Trees to cut, as well as Normal (Evergreen), Oak, Willow, and Yew Trees. Logs can sell for quite a bit in Members, as they are often used in Fletching. The trap door on the ground level of the Grand Tree, leads to a Massive Mine, with Clay, Iron, Coal, Silver, Gold, Mith and Adamant. South of the Grand Tree, are hundreds of trees, including Yew, Magic, Oak, Willow, and regular Trees. Flax is also found here, right below ladders, which lead up to banks. Many Spinning Wheels, however, none are near a bank. Brimhaven Brimhaven is a pretty boring place. The only thing it is good for is doing a section of the Hero's Quest. There is a gold mine, though it is not recommended mining for ore there, as it is too far from a bank. Features Two water sources One Quest Point (Hero's Quest) Pub/Bar Amulet store Two ranges Food Store Yanille Yanille is home to the legendary Magic Guild. There are four floors on the Magic Guild. It's the place where many drop parties are held, due to the famous Seer's Party Hall. Drop parties occur here for Several reasons. 1) There's Party Pete, with groovy dance moves 2) There is a party chest, where you can put items in, pull a lever, pay 2-5k, and baloons will drop, which you can burst and get an item that was in the chest 3) You cannot Telegrab in this Party Hall. Lvl 48 to get to the Skeletons. Lvl 57 to get to the Giant Bats and Chaos Druids. Lvl 67 to get to Salarin the Twisted. Salarin can only be killed with strike spells, he is lvl 67 and can sometimes drop a sinister key that opens a herb chest near the lvl 48 skeletons with 2 Harralander, 3 Ranarr weed, 1 Irit leaf, 1 Avantoe, 1 Kwuarm, and 1 Torstol herbs. Tree Gnome Village Dungeon This Dungeon has very little features, its only purpose is for the Waterfall Quest, where you have to get Glarials Peble from a gnome, by search a crate, getting a key and freeing him. Ardougne South Dungeon ---Please PM me if you have information about this dungeon-- Chaos Druid Tower & Dungeon There are about 6 or 7 Chaos Druids in this tower. You must picklock the door (lvl 46) to enter. Down the Ladder are aggressive ogres, and two chests, each containing 2 blood, and 500gp each. Temple of Ikov The Temple of Ikov is pretty useless for training in. The only easily acessible NPC's in there, are Giant Bats, and Ice Spiders. East Ardougne Dungeon Ardougne East Dungeon is found just east of the Docks. This is a cave full of Spear Hobgoblins and Ogres. If you also enter a gate you can mine fine gold for a quest and also there are two hellhounds. They have no drops but can drop clues. Edgeville Members Dungeon Enter via the Edgeville Entrance, pass the Skeletons, and go through the gate just before the Zombies. The first NPC you meet will be thugs, then if you decide to go North, you will meet Deadly Red Spiders, and a Spider egg respawn with 6 eggs. If you go west, you will come across many Chaos Druids, Level 45 Skeletons, then west of them are Black Demons. South of the Black Demons are Poison Spiders, and Chronozon, Merlin's Crystal Quest. In with Chronozon, is the Earth Obelisk.color The Air Obelisk is located North of the Black Demons, up the Ladder. There is also a Agility obstacle you can pass, which leads to more NPC's Taverly Dungeon This is a great dungeon. there are many NPC's here for you to train on, and collect herbs, and rare items from. If you do choose here, use the mage arena bank. This place is in the wild for a reason, there are giants first, then shadow spiders deeper along with an attack potion respawn, and at the end, Fire Giants Lava Maze Dungeon This place is famous to everyone, even if you haven't yet been there. It is home to two of the 5 Rune Rocks in RuneScape, and the elusive King Black Dragon. Be extremely careful around the KBD, as it drains your prayer. It has Magical, Ranged and Combat abilities. Only venture out here if you want to tempt fate. If you do go, I suggest taking nothing, as you would die even with the best armour. (Unless you're level 120 or so). Many people often PK around the KBD's Lair. = Quest Areas The Lost City of Zanaris To be eligible to enter the lost city, you must have completed the Lost City Quest, and have a Dramen Staff (In the Lost City Quest, kill the Tree Spirit, then Cut the Tree). The Lost City is located in the Lumbridge swamp, which is another dimension. You must weild a Dramen Staff to enter. Here you find supplies such as sand, a furnace and range for glassmaking. There are also cows, a windmill, and eggs for cake-making. You can also fight lvl 64 Otherworldly Beings, which have a higher chance of dropping half keys and dragon half shield. The Tree Gnome King Bolren can also return your Gnome Amulet of Protection if you happen to lose, or Drop it. This place has no other use, with the exception of the dungeon, for the Waterfall Quest, where you have to free a gnome using a key in a crate. There are also two General Stores here. Port Khazard Port Khazard is located NE of Yanille. Here, you'll find a Anvil, Gernal Store, two ranges, and a Mining spot with Clay, Copper, Tin, Iron and Mith ores. Sinclair Mansion Sinclair Mansion is located North of Seers Village, and has only one use, the Murder Mystery Quest. There is a range, and a water source. Baxtorian Falls Baxtorian Falls is a very good place to train. It is located North of Ardougne, East of the Gnome Stronghold. This is where you start, and complete the Waterfall Quest. To enter the Waterfall, you must be wearing Glarial's Amulet, which you get during the Waterfafll Quest. Inside the Waterfall, there are Skeleton Mage, Skeletons, Zombies, Shadow Spiders, and Fire Giants. Camelot Camelot is located East of Seers Village and serves very little purpose. Basically, the only features are the water Fountains. This place is for Merlin's Crystal Quest, & The Holy Grail Quest. You can also teleport to Camelot if you have 45 Magic. Kharazi Jungle The Kharazi Jugnle, is located South of Shilo Village. To get into this Jungle, you must have Completed the Waterfall, Underground Pass, Hero's Guild, Shilo Village and Family Crest Quests. This place is for the Legend's Quest. There are few, or no features in here. You need a mechete and Hatchet to be able to cut through the trees and bushes. There are Oomli birds (lvl ??), Tribesman (lvl ??), and some sort of pack wolves. = Quests Below are the list of Quests, which I have sorted into which ones to do first, and last. The List also Includes Links to guides, from our very own Guides Forum. I recommend this order, you don't have to follow it exactly, but make sure you do the first two ,when you get Members. Agility Below is a basic outline, of how to level quick, and efficiently Level 1-32 To get to level 32 Agility as Fast, and efficiently as possible, I recommend starting off by going around the Gnome Agility Course, 20 Times. This will get you to approximately level 13. Now, if you have 10 Fletching, you can go and do the Tourist Trap Quest. I know it's very long, and hard, but it will get you from level 13, to 22-25 Agility. From 23 Agility, it will only take about 112 times around the Gnome Agility course for level 32 (About 2 hours). Level 32-52 This level takes quite some time to obtain. The best place to level is the Barbarian Outpost. If you do the entire course, it seems like it takes Forever. I found the wall pretty fast though. You can just climb over the wall, then climb the handleholds to get back out. Rinse and repeat. Level 52-67 IMO, This is the EASIEST part of leveling Agility. The Wilderness Agility Course is EXTREMELY fast exp. I recommend taking a full load of fish, and a few anti poisons, as there are quite a number of PKers. You can use the Bank at the Mage Arena, and if you want to quickly get back to Ardougne, you can use the Teleport House (East of Mage Arena). It took me about 4 hours to get from 52-62. Crafting The best place for members to level crafting are listed below Flax: The best place to spin flax, is in Seers Village (Picture). Craft Dragonhide: Al Kharid Craft Battle Staves: Magic Guild (In Yanille) Glass Products: Entrana Unholy Symbol of Zamorak: Al Kharid Furnace. The Dragon Halberd is a brand new weapon by Jagex. Halberds are like little flag weapons. Their stats are below: Slash: +70 Slash: +95 Crush: 0 Magic: -4 Strength: +85 The Dragon Halberd hits on average, every 4.5 seconds. It's special attack is quite powerful. To be eligible to weild this new powerful Item, you must have completed the Regicide Quest. The shop where you buy these Halberds, is located in Tyras' Little Camp. Speak to the QuarterMaster in the tent to the Northwest. The price of each Individual Halberd is listed below. Dragon Halberd: When none are in stock: 325k When one is in stock: 355k Rune Halberd: 83,200gp Adamant Halberd: 8,320 Mith Halberd: 3,380gp Black Halberd: 2,496gp Steel Halberd: 1,300gp Iron Halberd: 364gp Bronze Halberd: 104gp Notes None of the Halberds are smithable. Shops: Here are the 3 Shops in the Range Guild. Hero's Guild Legend's Guild Magic Guild Fishing Guild Fishing Trawler Mini Game Member? Tired? Depressed? Need some Excitement? Well you will get it down at the Trawler Fishing Trip, and you may pick up a good loot as well. Be careful though, for this is no easy task. While the boat repeadiatly moves up and down, side to side, you will have to preform a series of tasks in order to pick up a decent haul. Read on for more information... Location: Port Khazard Along the West Coast of the Ocean, South of Ardougne and North of Yanille. Requirements: Level 15 Fishing Map: Preperation To complete the Trawler Mini Game, you will need Swamp Paste, Bailing Bucket(s) and Rope. Swamp Paste is stackable and can be purchased in the General Stores at Port Khazard for 42 gp each. However you will need a lot of these for every trip you make so the price may get too high. An alterative method would be to gather Swamp Tar (From Lumbridge Swamps), mix it with flour, then 'cook' it over a range. Instead of using a Windmill to get flour purchase it from the General Stores at Port Khazard for 14gp each, or get it from the Barrel of Flour used in the Murder Mystery Quest. The barrel is located in the kitchen of the Sinclair Mansion and just use a Empty Pot on it to withraw flour. You may also buy Swamp Paste for other players in the Game. Bailing Buckets can only be purchased in the General Stores at Port Khazard for 14gp each. Rope can be purchased in the General Stores at Port Khazard for 25gp each. It is recommended that you bring 100 Swamp Paste, 2-3 Bailing Buckets, and 10-15 Rope. The Basics of the Trip Find Murphy on the Northern Docks of Port Khazard, and talk to him. Agree to help out on the Trawler Boat. Cross the Gangplank of the Western Boat and a 1 minute countdown will start. During this time invite any friends to help you on the boat. When 1 minute expires, the boat will sail out to sea. A Mini Guide will be displayed on how to operate the Trawler Boat, but don't spend too much time here for your work has already started. Leaks - When you see a leak, all you have to do is 'Left Click' on it and you will automatically fix it. You will use one swamp tar for every leak you fill. The more people you have on the boat, the faster the leaks will come. Net Break - Every once in a while you will get a message that the net has broken. Simply climb the ladder at the back of the boat and click 'Inspect Trawler Net' or just left click on it. The chance of you fixing the net depends on your crafting level. When you fix the net, climb back down the ladder and continue fixing leaks. Bailing - Shortly after your trip begins, you will see water filling up the boat. To get rid of some of it, just click 'Bail-with Bailing Bucket' then 'Empty Bailing Bucket' to throw the water over the side of the boat. Murphy will not be much of a help around the boat, for he will just yell orders at you. He will say things such as "My mother can bail better than you", "Nooooooo", or "Fix that net". One useful thing he will say is how much time is left, but dont pay attention to this but only to your tasks at hand. If you let to much water into the boat, it will fill up with water so much that you are unable to fish. At this point you will find yourself swimming around within the boats walls. To get to shore just click 'Climb-on Barrel' on one of the floating barrels. You will be transported south of Port Sarim, with no fish, and a loss of 2 HP. If your 10 minutes are up, you Murphy will sail the boat back to Khazard Port. Now, exit the boat, and click Inspect Trawler Net on the pile or net on the dock just west of the Boat you were just on. This will show you what you have caught, withdraw what you would like to keep then exit the window. BEWARE; you can only open this window once after your trip so make sure you have everything you want before you leave it. Single Player: Strategy There isn't much to say for Single Player. In my opinion, the key to sucess is bailing. While it may seem pointless, it could be the difference between failure and sucsess. For best results grab two, or even three bailing buckets before your trip. At any point when the net is not broken or there are no leaks, repeatidly click on all your buckets. Having 2 or 3 of them speeds it up do to the fact that the Client doesn't respond right away. The only other thing I can say is that always know where the back of the boat is. So many times I have gone up the wrong ladder and ended up using 20 seconds more than I should have used to fix the net. Multi Player: Strategy Doing the fishing Trawler with two or more players makes it much easier. With more than two players, you can all choose different tasks. One can bail, one can repair the ship, one could repair the net, etc. If each person is set a specific task, then each person will only need to bring one type of item. Preparation Leading up to Subscription If you are planning to get members, there are some things you may want to get before you subscribe, so you are ready, and can make the most out of your subscription. Fletching There are a lot of things you can do to prepare for Fletching in Members. Firstly, I recommend getting at least 1,000 Normal Logs. These will help you begin your career as a fletcher. Fletching 1,000 Logs into Arrow Shafts, will get you to about level 20. After Fletching all these, you will have 15k Arrow Shafts. You can either choose to go on, and make Bronze/Iron Arrows until level 30, where you can make Steel arrows, or just sell the shafts. To get to level 35 Fletching from 21, you won't need much. You could either just add Feathers to the Arrow Shafts, or Do half and half about 3k Headless Arrows, then make 3k Bronze/Iron Arrows. If you want a bigger headstart, I recommend getting about 3,000 Willow Logs, which you can fletch into Willow Short/Long Bows, at level 35/40 When you reach a level where you can make a new type of bow, start chopping logs and making them! [Providind you have a satisfactory Woodcut level to get the logs efficiently Herblore There isn't really much you can do to prepare for Herblore, apart from collect Red Spider Eggs and Limpwurt Roots. Items/Money Before you go into members, make sure you have enough money, if you want to buy all the new Dragon Items, which are fairly expensive. = Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Q: What should I do when I first get Members? A: So you've just got members for the first time? I suggest doing the following things to start you off an an excellent month. High Priority Druidic Ritual (Allows you to begin Herblore) Fishing Contest (Allows you to pass under White Wolf Mountain) Explore and learn the map (Use the one Jagex provides) Fletching Go to seers and chop willow, get a knife (varrock upstairs general store) Herblore Get Vials Eyes of Newt Mortar and Pestle Go herb collecting (Taverly Dungeon) Agility Gnome Stronghold - A few times round the course will get you to 10 Agility Thieving Go to edgeville and pickpocket men for a while. Thieve from the cake stall in Ardougne. Thieve Rogues/Nature Rune Chest Thieve Guards/Stalls/Nature Rune Chest Items Get yourself a few ropes and buckets (Adventurer's store in Ardougne - For quests) Rune Hatchet (lvl 40 or so Woodcut lvl) Buy Dragon Weapon(s) (Require 60 Attack) Dragonhide Armour Read My Guide To The Runescape Marketplace for Prices Q: How do I get Dragonstone? A: There is only one way to get Dragonstone. You need to obtain a Crystal Key (Loop Half + Teeth Half Key). The Dragonstone Chest is in the first house south from the Witch's House. Q: What can I get from the DragonStone Chest? A: There are quite a few things you can get from the DragonStone Chest. You can also get combinations of Items. Click here for a picture of what I got from the DragonStone Chest once. DragonStone - 100% Iron Ore (150) Coal (100) Spinach Roll Fish (Salmon, Trout, Bass, -----) Runes Coins Cut Ruby (2) Cut Diamond (2) Q: How can I convince my parents to let me get members? A: I suggest you wait until your parents are in a good mood before asking them for Members (Unless they're the type that don't care). I generally go for the weaker parent. Tell them the following things: Some aspects of the game are educational (Learn about Medieval times, & you can learn to speak a bit of old English through the game) If they're worried you'll become isolated, tell them it's a very social game, and how many people play it. Cost - very cheap compared to other games Extends your computer skills (typing), and you end up learning a lot more, about Maths, Time Zones etc You can get more accurate vision (I did) {ie. noticing small things} If they actually care about how much you love the game say "I could get so much richer, and I could get levels easier" If they're worried you'd get more addicted say "Don't worry, after a month or two of members, RuneScape feels less enjoyable" (Not as much you need to acomplish) If they are worried about your health say "How about I only go on for 7 hours a day? 3 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon?" (That's for me... If you play less, say less hours) If they say outright "NO" do it behind their backs, use pay by phone (Available in the US, UK, New Zealand, and Australia) You won't get into trouble until the Phone Bill comes Q: What happens to my items when I unsubscribe from Members? A: F2P is allocated 62 Bank spaces, if your members items exceed that, you have to get rid of them. Here's the situation. You've just had members for a month or more. You have too many items. What do you do? You drop them! Or sell them Or Have a drop party Or give them to a friend to sell If you can't do any of that, take some time, about 5 days before your membership expires, sell any remaining items at Falador. If you didn't get rid of them in time, You must move everything F2P that you need, to the top 62 spaces of your bank. When you are fully unsubscribed, you can only withdraw items. You cannot deposit. However, you CAN deposit Stackables, so make sure you leave at least one of an item in the bank Q: What happens on my last day of members? What happens if I'm in a Member's Area when I log out? A: When your membership expires, Jagex will not notify you ingame. In your secure Menu, it will say You have 1 day of Subscription Left. When the subscription has ended, it will say You are not a member! You are missing out! Jagex will not log you out. You can keep your members until when you next log out. If you were in a members area when you log out, you will be teleported to Lumbridge. Don't worry, you will retain all your items in your inventory. Q: Where is the best Spinning Wheel Located? A: Seers Village, two houses south of the bank, and go upstairs. Q: Where can I get a Dusty key? A: You can get a Dusty Key in Taverly Dungeon, or the Legends Guild. South of the Poison Scorpions, in the Black Knights area, there is a jail guard who drops a bunch of keys, which lets you enter Velrak the Explorer's Cell. Speak to Velrak, and ask him if he know's anywhere to explore. He will give you a Dusty Key. This key lets you get past a door near the Lessers to the Blue Dragons and Baby Blue Dragons, then onto the rest of the dungeon. Q: What are Flowers, how can I get them and what do they do? A: Flowers are made by planting Mithril Seeds. You can get 40 Mithril seeds as a reward for the Waterfall Quest. Once you have used them up, you can buy them from the Legend's Guild store, on the West wing of the Third Floor, for 200-350gp each. Black and White flowers can sell for up to 150k. QUOTE Black: (Rare) White: (Rare) Yellow: Common Orange: Common Red: Common Dark Blue: Common Purple: Common Red, Blue, Yellow Combo: Purple, Light Purple, Light Blue Combo: Stats: -100 to Stab/Slash, -50 to Crush Q: Can I wear/weild/use my Members Items on Free Servers whilst I'm a member? A: The short answer is no. You cannot use Members Items on Free servers. However, you can wear/weild them, but they don't give any stats, ie they act as though your not wearing anything. Q: What are Gnome Food, Cocktails and Robes? A: Gnome Food, Cocktails and Robes can be made, or bought in the Grand Tree. When you speak to Aluft Gianne {the Gnome Chef, on the Western Wing, second Floor}, for the first time, he will ask you if you would like to work for him. He will ask you to make 5 Gnome Dishes for him. When you've done them all successfully, he will tell you that he will hire you to make him Gnome Food, however, you have to buy the Ingredients. Blurberry {The Gnome Cocktail maker, Easter Wing, second Floor}, will be the same as Aluft, and ask you to make him drinks using vodka etc. Rometti, sells Gnome Robes, in a few different Colours. They are pretty cheap, only about 300-800gp ea part or so. Q: What are Treasure Trails? A: Treasure Trails are fairly recent additions to RuneScape. When you complete one, you can recieve random Items. Black, Adamant, Rune, Depending on what level clue you get. For a more Complete Guide to Treasure Trails Check: Guide To Treasure Trails by laws0074 Q: What are the requirements for Dragon Items? A: To Wear/Weild Dragon Items/Weapons you must have Level 60 Defense/Attack. You can buy all Dragon Items from other players. With the exception of the Dragon Longsword. To weild it, you must have completed the Lost City Quest. Also, to piece together the Dragon Shield halves, you must have completed the Legend's Quest.
