Royal Radar Establishment

The Royal Radar Establishment, or RRE, formerly the Telecommunications Research Establishent, or TRE, moved to Malvern, Worcestershire from Swanage and Christchurch in 1942 after it was decided it was too vulnerable to German commando raids. It split on June 2, 2001 into two parts, a government body called DSTL (Defence Science and Technology Laboratory), and a company destined for privatisation, QinetiQ. See also:
