Rowena is a place in Minnehaha County, South Dakota. Rowena is located at , just over a mile north of the border with Iowa, about 5 miles east of Sioux Falls, and some 6 miles west of the Minnesota border, at an elevation of 1,411 feet. The ZIP Code is 57056.

Constructions

Near Rowena, there is the 609.6 metre high KDLT Tower, which is one of the tallest constructions in the world. The KELO TV Tower, an other guyed TV Tower, is from similiar height.

History

Farming is the traditional activity of Rowena. According to an 1895 atlas, Rowena had a population of 126 people. According to the 1950 census, Rowena had a population of 70. The United States Census Bureau no longer tracks Rowena as a separate community. Actress Mamie Van Doren was born in Rowena.
