Roundhay

Roundhay is one of the better known of Leeds's suburbs. It is in the east of the city, adjacent to Alwoodley, Chapel Allerton, Chapeltown, Gledhow and Oakwood; and is home to Roundhay Park, a grand, Victorian park which has the distinction of being the largest inner-city park in Europe. The area's housing ranges from poor, nineteenth-century stock in the south to some of the most sought after in Leeds to the north. Roundhay holds the honour of being the location of the world's first ever recorded film, Roundhay Garden Scene, which is thought to have been shot in 1888.
