Rosehill Cemetery

Rosehill Cemetery is a 350 acre Victorian-era cemetery on the North Side of Chicago, Illinois. Like its sister cemetery Graceland, Rosehill is the burial place of many well-known Chicagoans. Famous persons buried at Rosehill include Charles J. Hull of Hull House, Julius Rosenwald of Sears, Roebuck, Oscar Mayer of hot dogs, Charles H. Schwab of US Steel, Richard Warren Sears of Sears, Roebuck, John G. Shedd of the Shedd Aquarium, A. Montgomery Ward of Ward's Catalogue. There are also many monuments that are notable for their beauty and eccentricity. Rosehill's Joliet-limestone entrance gate was designed by William W. Boyington, the architect of the Chiago Water Tower and the First University of Chicago.
