Geography Rosedale is located at 35°23'33" North, 119°11'40" West (35.392600, -119.194488). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 98.1 km² (37.9 mi²). 98.1 km² (37.9 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 8,445 people, 2,566 households, and 2,304 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 86.1/km² (223.1/mi²). There are 2,776 housing units at an average density of 28.3/km² (73.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 88.98% White, 1.22% Black or African American, 1.22% Native American, 1.36% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 4.30% from other races, and 2.89% from two or more races. 11.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 2,566 households out of which 49.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 80.4% are married couples living together, 5.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 10.2% are non-families. 7.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 2.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.28 and the average family size is 3.45. In the CDP the population is spread out with 33.3% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 25.6% from 45 to 64, and 6.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 98.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 96.7 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $76,277, and the median income for a family is $83,704. Males have a median income of $61,379 versus $33,750 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $25,414. 6.3% of the population and 4.5% of families are below the poverty line.
