Rony Stanyforth

Lieutenant-Colonel Ronald ("Rony") Thomas Stanyforth (30 May 1892-20 February 1964) was an English cricketer who played for Oxford University, Yorkshire County Cricket Club and England. Stanyforth captained England in the four test matches he played in. They were against South Africa, and he won two, lost one and drew once. However, the series was a draw as in the fifth test of 1927/8, when Greville Stevens stood in for Stanyforth was lost. Only three of Stanyforth's 61 first-class games were in the County Championship, and all four came after he had captained England. Arthur Carr>
