Romeo Y Julieta

Romeo y Julieta is one of the best known brands of Cuban cigars. The brand was named for the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. It was created by Inocencio Alvarez and Mannin Garcia in 1875 http://www.cubancigarhouse.com/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=27&products_id=27. The popularity of the cigar markedly increased in 1903 when the brand was acquired by Jose Rodriguez Fernandez. The development of the Churchill style of cigar (named after Winston Churchill) is considered to be due to Romeo y Julieta. The brand is now owned by Altadis.
