Roman Catholic Missionaries

Roman Catholic missionaries traveled through the New World in hopes of many saved and convert souls.They served as mediators of the indigenous people and the Spanish government. The church prospered financially because of the trustworthy behavior of the missionaries and indigenous people. Spanish government officials impeded unfair taxes on the native American.
