Robert Howe

) was a Major General in the
Continental Army
during the
American Revolutionary War
. He was born in
Brunswick County, North Carolina
and served in the
North Carolina
militia and the colonial assembly from 1768 to 1775. He served for a time as the commnader of the Southrn Department of the Conttinental Army. He led a invasion of British Florida in 1777, and was forced to abandon
Savannah, Georgia
