Road Movie

In general, road movies are a genre of movies in which the action takes places during a road journey. Notable examples include Easy Rider and Thelma and Louise. They have their roots in classic works like Homer's Odyssey. The Road movies are also a series of seven classic comedy motion pictures starring Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and (except for the last) Dorothy Lamour. In each, the main action takes place on the road or route of the title, or partly en route and partly at the destination. References to the genre include a comment by Wyatt in the Easy Rider, who complains that his life is like being in a road movie, and also the song, "Road Movie to Berlin", by They Might Be Giants.
