rises
to the east of
Beaminster
, passes through
Dorchester

West Stafford
and
Woodsford
. At
Wareham
it is joined by the
River Piddle
, also known as the River Trent, and from then on it is navigable for almost 8 miles of river
estuary
, past
Poole
harbour and
Brownsea Island
.
