River 94.9Broadcasting from Ipswich, Queensland, River 94.9 is a commercial radio station which intended to start a 'riverloution' in Brisbane when it opened in December 2001 at it's home in the old studios of Star 106.9 which closed earlier that year. Their playlist originally included pop music, with specialty programming including Wild Nights which was licenced from Wild FM. In late 2003 after some small changes in administration, most specialty programmes disappeared and still claiming to be 'The hit music station', they began playing less pop music and more hit music from the 1980s and early 1990s.
