Risn Shortall

Risn Shortall is an Irish Labour Party politician. She is currently the Party Spokesperson for Transport. Risn Shortall was born and reared in Drumcondra, Dublin. She was educated at Dominican College, Eccles Street; University College Dublin, and St. Mary's College of Education, Marino. She worked as a teacher for the deaf before seeking public office. She first became involved in politics in 1991 when she was elected to Dublin City Council. Shortall was first elected to Dil ireann in 1992 and has retained her seat ever since then. On that occassion the Labour Party won a record 33 seats, an achievement that has never been equalled.
