  • Rigging is the arrangement of sails on a sailing vessel.
  • An oil rig or drilling rig is a structure housing equipment used to drill for and extract oil from underground oil reservoirs.
  • In computer animation, parts of a 3D model are rigged so that an animator can easily select and move parts of the model (such as an arm or leg) without having to painstakingly select every single vertex in the desired part. The rig also helps the animator with constraints and movement of other attached parts.
