Richie FurayRichie Furay is a vocalist/guitarist/songwriter who started his musical career as a solo artist playing folk clubs in the 1960s. He played with bands such as the Au Go Go Singers and the Monks before forming the band Buffalo Springfield with Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Bruce Palmer, and Dewey Martin. Buffallo Springfield disbanded in 1968, and Furay formed a new band, Poco, with Jim Messina and Rusty Young. Richie Furay later joined up with Chris Hillman and J.D. Souther to form the Souther Hillman Furay Band. Furay later converted to Christianity and formed the Christian musical group The Richie Furay Band with Jay Truax, John Mehler, and Tom Stipe. He rejoined Poco in 1989 to record their comeback album Legacy. As of 2004, Richie Furay is the pastor of a non-denominational church in Colorado, though he continues to perform as a solo artist, with Souther Hillman Furay, and with Poco.
