Richard Burt

Richard Burt (born 1954) is a British politician. He is Liberal Democrat PPC for Shrewsbury and Atcham, Shropshire. Burt was selected to replace Paul Marsden who announced in July 2004 that he would not contest the 2005 general election. Burt was elected as the PPC on 6 November 2004. Marsden was elected as a Labour candidate but subsequently defected to the Liberal Democrats, who had originally gained a very small share of the vote in Shrewsbury and Atcham. The Labour candidate is Michael Ion.
