Return To ZorkReturn to Zork is a 1993 adventure game in the Zork series for the IBM compatible PC and Apple Macintosh. It was developed by Infocom and Activision, and was the final Zork game to be published under the Infocom label. In the game, the player is a sweepstakes winner who travels around both overground and underground to destroy the evil Morphius. Unlike previous Zork games which were mostly text-only, Return to Zork made use of live actors and video as well as detailed graphics to tell its story; for the first time, no typing was required as the game made use of a point-and-click interface. Among the actors who appeared in this production were a number of instantly recognizable (by face if not necessarily by name) character actors as well as a number of well-known younger actors such as A.J. Langer (My So-Called Life) (as Rebecca Snoot), Robyn Lively (Twin Peaks) (as the Fairy), Jason Hervey (The Wonder Years) as the Troll King, as well as onetime Flash Gordon star, Sam J. Jones. The game was packaged with an abridged version of the Encyclopedia Frobozzica, which also served as the game manual. Throughout the game, players could take photographs of the environment with the camera inventory item, and record significant information told them with the tape recorder. There is also a map of the steps taken in the adventure. Of the Zork games, Return To Zork is the furthest forward in the fictional history, being set in 1647GUE. External links
