Redwood Shores, California
Redwood Shores
is a neighborhood on the
San Francisco Peninsula
in
California
. It is located on the eastern edge of
Belmont
but is actually part of incorporated
Redwood City
. Redwood Shores was built up from
landfill
in the marshes of the
San Francisco Bay
in the
1960s
, much like its neighbor on the north side,
Foster City
. To the south is the
San Carlos
small-plane
airport
. Redwood Shores is mostly made up of suburban housing. From the
1960s
to
1980s
it was the home of the
Marine World Amusement Park
. In 1986 Marine World moved to
Vallejo, California
and was replaced by the world headquarters of
Oracle Corporation
. Redwood Shores is also the home to a division of the
Electronic Arts
company.
