Redgranite, WisconsinRedgranite is a village located in Waushara County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 1,040. Geography is located at 44°2'40" North, 89°6'7" West (44.044550, -89.101993). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 5.8 km² (2.2 mi²). 5.7 km² (2.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.45% is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,040 people, 440 households, and 268 families residing in the village. The population density is 180.9/km² (468.6/mi²). There are 493 housing units at an average density of 85.7/km² (222.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 94.90% White, 0.87% African American, 1.15% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.67% from other races, and 2.40% from two or more races. 3.08% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 440 households out of which 29.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.6% are married couples living together, 11.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 38.9% are non-families. 32.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 17.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.30 and the average family size is 2.91. In the village the population is spread out with 24.9% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 24.6% from 25 to 44, 20.7% from 45 to 64, and 22.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 88.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 86.8 males. The median income for a household in the village is $26,726, and the median income for a family is $34,875. Males have a median income of $27,109 versus $22,361 for females. The per capita income for the village is $13,994. 11.1% of the population and 6.2% of families are below the poverty line.
