Red Knight

There is no single Red Knight in Arthurian Legend, but we do know some things attributed to his various forms. Firstly, it is believed he was a knight named Sir Perimones who was defeated by Gareth on his way to save Lyonesse. There, Gareth defeated another Red Knight nicknamed Ironside. This "Ironside", due to strange circumstances, had the strength of seven men, and was also known as the Red Knight of the Red Launds, and his armor and gear is described as "blood red" as opposed to just red. He is also said to be a knight who stole a cup from King Arthur and was hunted down and killed by Perceval. Gawain was also shortly known as the Red Knight for a brief time in the work, Perlesvaus.
