and flows south into
New Castle County, Delaware
. It joins White Clay Creek near
Marshalltown
, approximately 5 mi (8 km) southwest of
Wilmington
. Since
2000
, portions of the river, along with other tributaries of White Clay Creek, have been protected as part of
White Clay Creek Wild and Scenic River
.
