Recreational Tree Climbing

Recreational tree climbing uses ropes, a saddle and other gear (no spikes or gaffs) to safely scale a tree without causing it harm. The first part of the tree climb is to ascend up the rope using either a friction knot or mechanical device while tied into the rope with a saddle. Once on a limb, then it truly becomes a tree climb. This is a slow, fun, getting-back-to-nature experience, pioneered primarily by arborists and environmentalists.
