Rebro University

rebro University or rebro universitet is a state university in rebro, Sweden. The university created in 1999 when the former university college was granted the privileges of a university by the Government of Sweden. Among former students may be noted the manager of the English national football team Sven-Gran Eriksson and Swedish Prime Minister Gran Persson. Persson, who studied sociology in rebro 1969-1971, but never graduated, was awarded an honorary doctorate from the university in early 2005. This caused criticism both from within rebro University itself and from representatives of other Swedish universities. Opposition politicians and newspapers depicted the doctorate as a result of academic politicization, and the business-supported Institute against Bribery (Institutet mot Mutor) demanded an investigation into whether it is to be seen as a bribe.
