Rebecca Spang

Rebecca L. Spang is currently Reader in European History at UCL. Specialising in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century French cultural history, she won the Harvard First Book Prize for her book The invention of the restaurant: Paris and modern gastronomic culture. She is particularly interested in writing new histories of consumption, and in history and theory. Dr. Spang is also on the editorial cluster of History Workshop Journal.
