RealtorRealtor is a registered trademark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of Realtors and subscribes to its code of ethics. Although the term Realtor is sometimes used interchangebly with real estate agent, its use is reserved for active members of NAR. Some individuals who are licensed to act as real estate agents are not NAR members. NAR insists that the word be written in all capitals with an accompanying symbol, and ideally in red, like this: REALTOR. Most Realtors comply, while most newspapers and other publications usually use mixed case (and black letters) in deference to their own style guide.
