Reading 107 Fm Brief history The consortium behind Reading 107 FM submitted their bid for a local commercial radio station for Reading, Berkshire in September 2001. The licence was awarded in March 2002. Reading 107 FM launched at 8am on 22 October, 2002 by breakfast presenter Tim Grundy. The first song played was 'Listen To The Music' by The Doobie Brothers. The studios are located within the Madejski Stadium, which is the home of Reading F.C. and London Irish. Presenters - Tim Grundy (Mon-Fri 6am-10am, Sun 7pm-10pm)

Community links The station has strong links with the surrounding communties - Community Manager Warren Lee presents bulletins each day focusing on a different group, organisation of part of Reading, and has a one-hour programme on Sundays, Reading World, taking a closer look at the area. Sports coverage Reading 107 FM enjoys close association with local sports clubs. It is the official station of Reading F.C. and Rugby Union side London Irish. Commentary of every football match is broadcast on The Royal Box and via the Reading F.C. website. There is also a committment to smaller football, rugby, hockey, basketball and motor racing teams, with weekly results broadcast every Saturday at 5:45pm. External link 107 Reading
