Random Randumb

Random Randumb is a popular stupid videos website which first appeared on the web as "Random Randumb" in 2001. The group goes much farther back into the late 1990s. An exact date is unknown, although it is estimated circa 1999.

Content

Random Randumb is based on the value of demonstrating stupidity in a humorous manner. Videos include anything from stunts, to stupid quotes, to just about anything considered dumb. Originally, the group released individual clips on a sporadic basis. However, starting in 2002, the group organized their clips into episodes, with select clips from each episode available separately. The full episodes are much larger and contain more material; due to the large file size, the episodes were targeted at broadband users.

Members

The cast has varied greatly over the production time. From extensive analysis of media, the following are believed to have appeared in some form (last names were not available for most):
  • William Bond
  • Brian
  • Countess
  • Jeff
  • Cody
  • Jake
  • Josh Gould
  • Andy C
  • Jimmy
  • Paul
  • Aaron
  • Beef
  • Ricky
  • Snaps Fleeman
  • Scott
  • Travis

Television

William appeared on Sky TV to light farts on fire. Some other brief clips aired, mostly featuring William and various rear-end oriented material.

Cult

Random Randumb, although disregarded by most as a pointless stupid video resource, has a attracted a cult like following around the internet in forums and chat rooms. Despite the utter immaturity of many clips, fans range from the single digits to retirement age. At one point, a petition was considered to keep the site going (see "An End?"). The cult following has mostly been a center for rumors and reportings of sightings of crew members. According to one follower, William appeared in the background of an episode of Viva la Bam, skateboarding inside of Bam Margera's house. Other, less outrageous, sighting claims include University of Maryland, UMBC and various restaurants in Maryland. There have been several confirmed sightings of Travis at Virginia Tech.

An End?

Random Randumb's content has not been updated since January, 2003. Most consider the group to be defunct now, while some have said through contact from the web site that more episodes are planned. Rumors have been spread around forums that a "Random Randumb Reunion" DVD is planned. Others have said the group will be producing a show on Comedy Central or MTV. No confirmation has been made on any of the rumors, and they should not be taken as more than a rumor.
