Randi Rhodes - For the rock guitarist, see Randy Rhoads
Randi Rhodes is a talk radio show host on Air America Radio. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, and her career in radio started in Seminole, Texas, where she worked as a waitress in a Mexican restaurant to support her career. She was voted Most Outstanding Woman in the United States Air Force in 1979. Randi worked at various radio stations for over a decade, throughout the country, until hosting The Randi Rhodes Show on Air America Radio in 2004. Unlike some other talk show hosts, she actually engages in dialogue with right wing callers and guests while defending her views. She also backs her material with a wide array of compelling articles on her website; nevertheless, her critics argue that she is not neutral in her daily discourse, with regard to political events, due to her leftist views. In 1994 Randi married Jim Robertson, an independent television producer, and legally changed her name to Randi Robertson. On the air, she still uses her maiden name. In April 2004, the couple divorced, but they remain close. Randi Rhodes is known for her distinctive Brooklyn accent. She was off the air for a period in February-March 2005 as she recovered from surgery. See also External links Rhodes, Randi
