Ranavalona II (1829 - 13 July 1883) was Queen of Madagascar from 1868 to 1883, succeeding Rasoherina. On 21 February, 1869 she was baptized, officially converted the country to Christianity, and married Rainilaiarivony, who held the real power in Madagascar.
