Ramesh Chandra Lahoti

Ramesh Chandra Lahoti (born November 1, 1940) is the Chief Justice of India. He was sworn in as the Chief Justice of India on June 1, 2004. He joined the Bar in Guna district in 1960 and enrolled as an advocate in 1962. He was appointed as a Judge of Supreme Court of India on December 9, 1998. He is due to retire on his 65th birthday giving him a term of 18 months. His predecessor had a term of just 1 month.
