Rachel Paiement

Rachel Paiement (born 1955 in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario) is a former Canadian musician and songwriter. Paiement, a franco-ontarian, was a singer and songwriter for the band CANO in the 1970s. She also appeared as a guest musician on albums by Bruce Cockburn and Connie Kaldor. She once recorded a commercial jingle for Daniel Lanois in the basement of Lanois' family home; Jocelyne Lanois was eavesdropping in the stairwell. She was also a member of Morgan in the early 1970s, and appeared in theatre productions for the Thtre du Nouvel Ontario. After leaving CANO in 1980, Paiement married Jim Vallance, a frequent songwriting collaborator of Bryan Adams, and wrote the French lyrics for "Tears Are Not Enough". However, she has primarily concentrated on her family, and has not continued to maintain an active music career. Paiement, Rachel Paiement, Rachel Paiement, Rachel
