Quispamsis, New Brunswick

Quispamsis is a Canadian town located in Kings County, New Brunswick. A suburb of Saint John, its 2001 population was 13,757. Located along the lower Kennebecasis River valley, Quispamsis borders the town of Rothesay to the southwest and the Hammond River to the northeast. The Gondola Point neighbourhood is home to a cable ferry crossing the Kennebecasis River, linking the Kingston Peninsula. The town covers almost 60 km. Outdoor recreational opportunities are available at the Hammond River Nature Park, Ritchie Lake, and Meenan's Cove. In response to a sprawl problem (and provincial government cuts in municipal grants), several municipalities in the lower Kennebecasis River valley were amalgamated on January 1, 1998 by the provincial government.
